Ayodhya is considered as a one of the most holy and sacred places in India. This is because the city is hypothesized to be the birthplace of Rama, who is believed to be the avatar of God Vishnu. The religion dispute among people in India has always been a matter of concern which always leads to fight among people of two different castes, especially Hindus and Muslims. Hindus long wait for Ram Mandir finally ended with Bhumi Poojan yesterday, the first step towards the construction of the holy shrine.
The dispute was basically because the of a plot of land in Ayodhya where a mosque named Babri Masjid was constructed but Hindus traditionally regarded that plot of land as the birthplace of their God, Rama and hence destroyed the Babri Masjid in a political rally which turned into a riot on December 6, 1992. Since then, Muslims and Hindus treated ill to each other and there was a major hatred among the Muslims and Hindus for each other. But after so many years, Supreme Court finally made a decision on Ayodhya dispute and declared that Ram Mandir would be constructed and another 5 acre of land would be given to Muslims for the construction of Masjid. Thereby making sure that none of the religious sentiments get hurt.
‘”Aaj Ram Mandir ban raha hai, kal Ayodhya mein Masjid ka bhi nirman hoga,
Aaj Hindu ke liye tyohar hai, to kal musalman ke liye bhi jashn hoga,
Mandir ki ghantiyo se Masjid ki azaab tak,
Hindu se Ram Ram se Musalman ke salam tak, milkar ek dusre ki khushi me shamil hona hai.”- says the people of India, after all whatever happens, India will always remain a secular country with hundreds of cultures and religion being followed by its people.
After a long wait, Ram Janm Bhumi Poojan took place yesterday. It was not only good news for people in Ayodhya but the whole of India. Hindus have waited since centuries to see a Ram Mandir on the place where Babri Masjid once stood. Bhumi Poojan marked the beginning of construction of the Grand Temple. People lightened their home with diyas to celebrate this day and were very excited to celebrate this occasion just like any other festival. However, the construction of Ram Mandir is expected to be complete in three years. The function took place keeping in mind that precautions should be taken since the pandemic is not over yet and the Bhumi Poojan took place successfully.
