India has some destinations that can put your life at risk but there are a few destinations that are extremely dangerous and can make you stare at the death straight in the face. Here is a list of some of the most dangerous places in India.
KOLLI HILLS– It is located in the western Tamil Nadu and is spread over the Nammakal District. The mountains rise to 1300 meters in height and cover an area of 280 km2. It is also known as mountain of death. There are also ancient stories of a maiden that waits on these steep turns charming people with her beauty just to eventually kill them.
ROOPKUND: Roopkund Lake is located in Uttarakhand in the Indian Himalayas. The lake is frozen most of the time but when it melts it reveals the bones of nearly 300 people. Scientists have dated the bodies back to the 9th century. The lake may not seem that dangerous but the way to the lake can get tricky. The Roopkund is located at 16,000 feet above sea level and surrounded by rocky glaciers. The lake has been renamed as Skeleton Lake.
PAMBAN BRIDGE- Pamban Bridge is a railway bridge which connects the town of Mandapam in mainland India with Pamban Island, and Rameswaram. The bridge is sturdy and has survived a massive cyclone but traveling on the bridge on a windy day can be a task. The bridge takes 12 people to manually pull levers, to allow ships to travel from below.
DRASS-The place that was in the line of fire during the Kargil War is enough to put the place on the list. Apart from having multiple military incursions and crossfire of bullets, it is also the second coldest habitable place in the world. The bone chilling cold will give you a second thought to visit.
