5 Brands giving back to the Environment

Today, saving our environment is not an option but a need. One day in a year has been reserved to remind us the importance of environment in our lives. However, this does not suffice the needs of the environment and the amount of care that is required. A daily reminder to selves is what is required at this point and time. Here are five companies who dedicate themselves in preserving the environment through the work they do.

The Body Shop – The Body Shop, a leading Cosmetics, Skin Care and Perfume Company dedicates itself to the betterment of the environment. The initiatives that the beauty brands have undertaken include using inexhaustible or carbon adjusted vitality so that the emission of pollution is minimal from their end. While renovating the stores or overhauling them, bio- bridges are built which is not only ecological but economical too. The bio bridges help in securing and recovering 75 million square meters of living space with the number of stores the cosmetic brand builds.  And with the help of such steps, it is sure to bring a change.

Avis – Avis India, a leading car rental service provider has been present in the country for over 16 years now and was listed as one of the Top 50 ‘Green’ Brands in 2015. The company works in its full capacity to reduce the carbon emissions and supports the individuals and believers of the same. Recently, Avis India collaborated with Mr. Sushil Reddy who is on a mission to create a Guinness World Record by traveling 6000 kms on an electric rickshaw. Avis India is supporting Mr. Reddy by providing him with a vehicle to support his journey.

Routematic – Routematic,  an urban mobility company that focuses on providing employee transportation solutions believes in working for people and environment. The company plans on introducing electric vehicles to make the commutation environment friendly and sustainable.

LG – LG Electronics recently launched their new initiative “Life’s Good when its Green”, focusing on sustainability through Eco-Design and Eco-Products. The brand aims at reducing the usage of hazardous materials and to minimize the production of wastage by recycling the products. The company recently launched LED E60 and E90 series monitor for the Indian market which consumes 40% less energy than the conventional LED monitors.

H&M – H&M, the multinational clothing company operates with a broader view of achieving sustainability.  The brands clothes are either 100% recycled or made from sustainably sourced materials. Additionally, the brand gives its customers a chance to give their old clothes at their store and be able to gain credit score in its place. The main goal of the brand is to minimize the waste and reuse and recycle as much as they can.
