I am sure that there are times when you feel anxiety, irritated or angry for no reason. That’s human nature nobody can change which is very natural among all of us. There are many things people do to take their attention off from this. Some people like to binge-watch and some like to eat their favorite food at this time. While these activities may be helpful for some time but denying what we feel may bring negativity inside us which can directly affect our physical and mental health.
One way you can positively deal with it is by practicing mindfulness activities. Mindfulness allows us to bring a healthy and positive approach to our lives. While you cannot change what happened in the past, but mindfulness can help bring an end to excessively ruminating on the past and worrying over the future. Here are a few mindfulness activities you can try to keep yourself calm and positive.
Candle study exercise is one of the mindfulness activities you can do. It is a form of meditation. Just light your favorite candle and sit comfortably and watch its flame. Gaze it and let your mind wander. Observe your thoughts and you will feel calm and better than before.
Tea drinking exercise is another exercise you can try. Since most people love tea, why not take some good benefits from it. Just try drinking your tea a bit slow. Try drawing your attention towards its smell or aroma and the sensation it brings to you. If you are a coffee lover, you can do the same thing. Try to bring your attention to its aroma and the sensation that it brings.
Make a gratitude list for yourself. This is called a gratitude list exercise. Make a list of things you are grateful for. It is the quickest way to ground yourself in difficult times because they help you focus on what is working.
These activities will bring calm and stillness in your body.
