Zomato launches ‘binge-worthy’ original shows – 18 originals released

Food delivery app Zomato wants to now become the Netflix of food as it is all set with its latest venture ‘Zomato Originals- A New Binge Routine’. Going as per the name, it has launched 18 original shows which are available to view on the app.

As per the announcement, Zomato Originals are available to view across India. It was also made clear that the food aggregator company will launch 18 original shows within the next three months.

All these shows are available on the Zomato app in a new ‘Videos’ tab and there will be over 2,000 videos which will feature the shows, sneak peek and recipe videos as well. All these Zomato Originals shows will be exclusive to India while all the other videos will be streamed globally.

As per Zomato, all these original shows will be “around food, but with a twist”. As far as the themes are concerned, it will include comedy, reality, fiction, advice, and celebrity interviews.

The aforementioned Zomato Originals will have a running time between to 3 to 15 minutes. They will be made available in both Hindi and English. Since, all the shows will be app-centric audience, the Zomato Originals are shot in portrait mode. The biggest takeaway is that all these shows will be free and will also have no ads spoiling the mood.

The app has taken no liberties as far as content is concerned and has roped in big names in the food and entertainment industry. The impressive line ups include Indian chef Sanjeev Kapoor whose show will be called ‘Food and You with Sanjeev Kapoor’. ‘Banake Dikha with Sumukhi Suresh’ features stand-up comic and nutritionist Sumukhi Suresh.

Janice Sequeira will have her own show called ‘Starry meals with Janice’ where she will tour kitchens of Bollywood actors and actresses like Diana Penty, Tapsee Pannu, and Aditi Rao Hydari.

Also, the Zomato Originals will feature more stand-up comics like Neville Shah, Aadar Malik and Kautuk Srivastava for ‘Race Against the App’. Then there’s ‘Dude, where’s the food with Jordindian’ which will star the popular Youtuber himself.
