Here’s how you can quit coffee without triggering withdrawal symptoms

Some people have a habit of kick starting their day with a cup of coffee and not having it can mess with their mood throughout the day. What we mean to say here is that coffee addiction is pretty common among us and addiction to anything is not good for you.

There’s no doubt that coffee leaves you energized but if you cannot work without it then it means that your body is addicted to it. Notably, caffeine has the power to change the chemical balance inside your brain, especially dopamine. For those who don’t know what dopamine is, it is responsible for keeping a human alert and focussed.

So if you think that it’s time to say no to addiction, then here’s what you should do:

Slow progress
If you really want to stop the addiction then it is advised that you should take the slow and the long route. This will have better effects on your body and mind. If you want to stop having coffee then you can start it by reducing it to one cup a day and move on to two cups in the second week and so on

Don’t quit instantly
If you take a sudden break from coffee then it can disturb your wellbeing. This goes for every addiction, so in order to quit something it is important that you do it slowly and gradually. Cutting off immediately will send your body into a state of shock and it can trigger undue withdrawal symptoms such as constant headache, fatigue and irritability.

Take other beverages
In order to stop your addiction to coffee, it is advised that you should find an alternative drink like green tea or any other herbal tea. Replacing a drink with coffee will not make you miss it and you’ll not crave for it.
